Wow, our baby 6 months. It is cliché, but if it is true, how fast it is!
So I have been at home for centuries and I really enjoyed it, I can tell you.
I thought it was time for an update: how is our girl now that she is six months old?
BABY 6 MONTHS
And now our girl is already six months old. So wonderful to see such a small person grow.
The development is going so fast! I really enjoy being able to experience it up close.
Snacks
During the four-month check-up at the doctor, she indicated that we could start with some snacks. I started with that at 4.5 months. First vegetables, later some fruit. And now? She still doesn't like it haha. As long as I get the spoon close to her mouth, she grins her face and her lips tighten. I try every day, fruit and vegetables. Mashed bananas used to go a bit, but not anymore unfortunately. This week I started giving her small snacks. Mini pieces of banana for example and this is now a bit of it. She likes breadsticks and rice cakes to chew on. So I often give them to her, she can practice a bit.
Playing
My drinking glass is not safe. When she sees it, she rushes on it, grabs it and bites on the edge. Fortunately, I drink from a strong glass, so that doesn't hurt much… Drinking is clearly more important to her than food;). She loves to play with toys, preferably on a rug, because then she can also roll. We received an interactive play mat from her godfather, which she is now playing on. It is a nice sturdy, but also soft rug. She can also roll nicely on this, it stays nice and soft, so no banging with her head on the ground. She picks up toys that are near her and pulls her knees under her. I'm curious when she will crawl so :).
On my lap
So she usually doesn't enjoy sitting on your lap for long, she wants to explore! But she really loves songs! All that matters (Mark Knopfler) and you are my sunshine (Johnny Cash) are her favorites. I often get her silent with that when she's not feeling well or irritated.
Development: She is almost crawling
Suddenly she can move really well and I think that is so much fun! When she sees something on the ground that she wants, she goes for it. She leans on her arms and drags herself along. This is great! She went backward before moving forward. So we better get things safe here, because Leana is coming.
Besides that she can almost crawl, she can also sit better. She cannot sit on her own yet, but she would very much like to sit up straight by her own.
