How is Leana now, is she growing well and how are the nights going?
And so I decided to write an update.. Read along!
My baby is already 1 month old!
When I look back on the past month I feel I have experienced more than in all those months before… My baby is already 1 month old! You blink your eyes once and you have already half forgotten that it was only a month ago. How?! I keep saying: time flies, really not normal! Because I receive private messages and emails almost every day asking how we are doing, I decided to throw in a monthly Leana update. In this first update I will tell you about growth, bottle feeding, broken nights, check-ups at the clinic and pediatrician.
Check-up with the pediatrician
Last week there were several appointments on the agenda: our first visit to the clinic and a check-up at the pediatrician. Because I had the 22-week vaccination against whooping cough during my pregnancy, Leana does not receive her first vaccinations until three months. So we mainly went to measure and weigh, to keep an eye on her weight. I was very curious about these figures. Leana was born with 3200 grams, but is now already at a good 4300 grams. Everything is on schedule.
Kind of a schedule
Everything is new and busy, chaotic. Meanwhile, peace has returned and we are, if I say so myself, quite busy. During the day it is one bomb exploded here: toys all over the place, the washing machine runs non-stop and I would certainly not recommend that you walk barefoot through our kitchen. But still, Leana is already on some sort of schedule and is starting to realize that there is a difference between day and night. She is currently in a transition from 7 bottles (90 ml water, 3 scoops of nutrition) to 6 bottles (120 ml of water, 4 scoops of nutrition). We started with the Avant bottles, but these teats were still a bit too big, so they gave a lot back. That is why we switched to the Difrax bottle with a premature teat and that is going very well. We also use Mamacoli to prevent colic and natural vitamin D drops. We do notice that if we put her away too soon after the bottle (even though she's done well), she spits faster. If we take more time, this will be fine.
Size 50
All in all, we enjoy intensely between the chaos. Although we had our doubts beforehand, nothing is left of it now. I am so happy with the arrival of Wise Child! I do notice that she is really still a little one and that there was a little too little in the closet of sizes 50 and 56. For example, I hardly had summer clothes in those sizes, so it was time for our first shopping session! I bought a white embroidered dress in size 62, a light blue suit with dots in size 56 and two suits in yellow and white with floral print (size 56). Leana can go through the summer! I also bought a cute carpet with elephants and milestone cards to capture these beautiful memories. Once we got home from the hospital I took the first pictures, now that my baby is 1 month old and I will continue to do this monthly. Because this mini also grows too quickly and we always have those beautiful photos ;)
