Not quite
Oooooo, it seemed only recently that I wrote the last update but nothing could be further from the truth: my baby is already 5 months old. Time flies! Last time I wrote about Leana's bottle schedule: she drank 5 bottles of 180 cc water with 6 scoops of formula. In principle, we still offer this, but in recent weeks she regularly left the bottom. Also a bit more than bottoms by the way, so I expected that she might switch to 4 bottles. In the meantime I had also peeked into the Oei ik Groei app for a while, there were indeed a lot of thunder clouds. In principle we had fairly fixed times when she drank, but she usually indicates those times herself. Very little of that rhythm remained in recent weeks: one day she drank 6 times, the other day 4 and the next day "just" 5 times, but not all. So nice, if you think you have a rhythm, everything changes again. What else is new haha :)
The first snacks
I decided to offer Leana her first snacks. After all, she is almost 5 months now and is regularly interested in watching us eat. The books say that you have to start with fruit, but we don't do anything by the book here at home, so we just started vegetables. Two bites, because Leana's face spoke volumes. I tried sporadically in the weeks that followed, but Leana isn't ready yet. No problem, we just wait another month and then we check again if she likes a fruit snack. Step by step.
Roll over
Shortly after writing the previous update, Leana decided fo roll over can now also be checked. That you suddenly hear your baby cry and she is lying on her stomach in the baby gym that's about it. Since then she has had a taste for it, fortunately she does not do this in bed yet… I am preparing myself mentally for the many moments when she has played, but cannot roll back myself. The roar of laughter flies around our ears, so much fun! She is having a great time under the baby gym and rolls through the entire room. I had a big shopper with baby toys in the attic, so we took it down. Every now and then I have the feeling that her teeth are already starting to come through, then she has red cheeks, but so far I detected two tiny teeth! On to the next month, she is already six months old. It's sooooo fast!
