Raise your child with self-confidence with these tips

It is perhaps the most difficult task "ever" as a parent ... raising your child with confidence. We all know how to take care of our child and do it as well as possible, but parenting remains a major challenge, you constantly learn lessons and make adjustments where necessary, but there is no school or book that says how it should actually be done. And are we actually doing it well enough?

Curious about what we have remembered and are actually applying because it works so well?

These tips have already been tested and approved here:

It takes a whole village to raise a child.

You are not alone as a parent. Involving others in your child's education can only do you good. Therefore, meet regularly with other parents with children. Expand your network and involve family and friends. Framily is the best there is for your kids, believe me!

Make real time for your child consciously And by real time I mean one on one time.

We are all busy busy busy but make time every day for 5 to 10 minutes to really talk with your child. We are a real cuddly family and we cuddle here daily and eagerly. Group hugs on the couch, kisses and hugs after work, before work, just during the day because we can and because we like to see each other. Mum and dad who regularly hug each other. You cannot spoil your child enough by cuddling, it only works positively if they know that they live in a warm nest. So cuddle on and a lot!

Do things together!

Let's be really good at that too, because if there is one thing I hope is that Leana will be able to say later, "Mommy, Daddy I had a wonderful childhood!" We firmly believe that doing things together and making memories together are worth a lot more than buying a big gift. Because we bet that your child will remember the walks in the woods and the journeys and not the umpteenth birthday present that will be left in the closet after a few days? During that quality time you often really make time for your child and it gets your undivided attention and that is what really counts.

Provide guidance and set boundaries

But you don't have to shout for that! For a while now we have been trying NOT to shout at each other or Leana, but to formulate everything in a positive way (not always easy, but it really works). Children are often told what not to do with the focus on the unwanted behavior, but try to focus on what your child is allowed to do.

A healthy mind in a healthy body

Getting plenty of exercise and a healthy diet is super important and helps reduce stress levels in children. Exercise really impacts children's self-confidence. Challenge your children to exercise regularly. Dance together in the living room, for example, or place a vintage sports window in your living room like we did recently, you don't want to know how much more they move because of this. Buy such a wobbelboard to do gymnastics at home or go outside and play football or go for a walk together.
