Safe co-sleeping
Safe Co-sleeping is understood to mean sleeping together in the same room. Several studies have shown that it is very good for babies to sleep close to their parents. It seems that when the child hears the parents breathe, cough or turn, it is stimulated to keep breathing on its own. This reduces the risk of cot death! Cot death is my biggest fear in this early phase, so this fact made me happy to opt for co-sleeping.
Practical
Of course you can also place a normal crib next to your own bed. But what I find so useful about a co-sleeper is that I don't have to get up to grab Leana. I fold the side down and take her with me. What I really like about this is that this can be done almost completely silently. Leana often falls asleep during feeding, and then I think it is important that she does not wake up again when I open the bed. Because I don't have to get up, I can perform the entire feeding ritual half asleep, so that my own sleep is disrupted as little as possible. A good night's sleep is so rare in those first weeks, all the minutes are counted in my opinion.

Attachment
Sleeping together is also good for the bonding between you and your child. When the baby hears and sees that you are close and you can respond quickly to the signals she is giving, she will feel safe and bond with you. This in turn ensures that they can develop properly. A secure attachment is very important for the growth of the brain.
Baby monitor life saver
AngelCare, I can't live without it anymore! A small sensor mat is placed under the mattress, so your child will not notice this. This sensor mat communicates via the baby unit to the parent unit. If your child does not move for 20 seconds or does not breathe for 20 seconds, the mat will pick this up and give a signal. The Angelcare baby monitor itself does not prevent SIDS, but it helps parents. It takes away a lot of worry, making it easier for parents to relax or sleep when the baby is sleeping. As soon as your baby would stop breathing, you will receive a signal and you therefore also know that it is necessary to go to your baby immediately. Fortunately, this will really not happen often, but the one time it does happen you will be there on time. There are many parents who claim that this baby monitor has saved their child's life.
