My own Gender Reveal Party

What could be more fun than reading stories and viewing photos from other Gender Reveal parties?

Ideal for inspiration! That is why I would like to share my Gender Reveal party with you.

When we discovered that we were expecting our first and last child

we immediately knew that we wanted to find out in a special way whether it was going to be a boy or a girl. How? I searched a lot for that, because in Belgium there were very few original ways to discover the sex of your child. In the end, we asked the godmother to make something for the gender reveal. She decided to make a smash cake in the colors of K.V.M (football team) because Tom is a big supporter, yellow and red. Inside the smash cake, she inserted a balloon with confetti. We would have to destroy the cake at the moment to know the gender. Tom took care of the music and the hall, he chose the "Grand Kavee" next to the station of K.V.M, a beautiful hall where we could hold our party. I took care of the cakes, and decorations, .. I also made games like Pick you're guess. I made a board that I split into two parts team boy, team girl. With two baskets of clothespins in the color pink and blue that they could hang on the board and one to hang on their clothes,.. My father provided confetti cannons. The date was set and everything was arranged. Let's go for it!

Super exciting!

At 14 weeks, we had a sex determination ultrasound made at the AZ Sint-Maarten hospital. We then indicated that we did not want to know the gender ourselves because we were going to announce this during a Gender Reveal party. We received the ultrasound photos in a sealed envelope. We have confidently given this to the godmother that would put the right color confetti in the smash cake for us. Super exciting of course because at that moment someone close to you already knows what the gender is!

Team Blue or Team Pink?

A (long!) 2 weeks later the time had come, our Gender Reveal party! We invited all our friends and family to share this special moment with us. We had asked everyone in advance which team they were on, team boy or team girl? So that we could create teams and hand out clothespins, great fun because then a kind of mutual "battle" arises!

"The Big Moment"

We handed out the confetti cannons and counted down together. And when the whole sky turned pink with confetti and the smash cake was completely smashed, we knew, a girl! It was literally raining pink confetti. We will never forget this moment, it was so special and because of all the tension in advance, such beautiful emotions were released in everyone. We can recommend such a special moment to everyone!

What gender did I think it would be?

I used to hope that someday I would have a daughter, a little mini-me, a little best friend. But since on the family side of Tom they only had boys, I was pretty convinced I would have a boy because the father's genes are very strong. I told myself that if it were a boy I would genetically manipulate it that it would suddenly become a girl :p or that it would be a boy anyway and if it were a girl I would be even more surprised.

It's a GIRL!

if it had been a boy I would have loved it equally but you have to admit everyone has a slight preference in terms of gender.
